ANNOUNCEMENT:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We’ve spent several years discussing the
creation of a green subdivision here in
Omaha—and I’ve been
excited by all of your ideas. You’ve told me you want
to create a sustainable neighborhood with environmentally
responsible homes. You’ve said you want a beautiful
place to live. You’ve expressed your values: people and
nature above asphalt, concrete, and urban
sprawl.
I agree.
I’m not interested in telling a group of
people how to build their homes, or in building someone
else’s lifestyle for them. What I am interested in is
enabling others to create a community organically, a place that
holds the wellbeing of its citizens as its first intention.
We can create so much more than just a bunch of “green”
houses clustered together. If it takes a village….we
can make one.
This process is outlined at the
livingneighborhoods.com
website. The community grows
itself. If you want to live there, you take part in the
planning. If you build a home, you work on the
design. You are the architect of your own life.
I’m just here to help.
It’s time to get together and grow this
dream into reality. I’m looking for extraordinary
people who want to be a part of this—and I want you to be one
of them. We are having an introductory meeting and
presentation on Thursday, September 4th at 7:00pm at the
Westside Community Center, 108th and
Grover. Please let me
know as soon as possible if you can come, and if you are planning
on bringing anyone. I want to be certain to have a place for
you.
Until then,
Jack Round
